GOLDEN ARROW (TAIRUA).
Mr Frank Daykin, the new manager of this mine returned to town last evening, | and informs me that he has finished a part of his contract for the tramway, equal to about six chains in length, and expects to be able to get. stuff along it and start crushing in about two months —perhaps a little less if the weather keeps pretty - good. At the mine, things are in first-rate order, and there is at present about 200 tons of stuff in the paddock at the mine ready to be taken to the battery as soon as the tramway is finished; and there ia any amount of stuff standing in the mine ready to be broken but. Mr Day kin calculates that the stuff he is taking out at present will average at least 2 ounces to the ton. He is taking out the reef for a width of about 12 feet. With such fine prospects as these, this mine will as soon as the tramway is finished become a. very '^j valuable property, and may help to remove the stigma at present lying on the Tairua district; -; '■ • "
