KURANUI HILL UNITED/.
Heldt and party completed their crushing at the company's mill to-day for the yield of l^ozs melted gold.
CITY-OF LONDON.
The Inspector of machinery completed his inspection of the boiler, and engine of this inine; to-day, and as there hate been no repairs since the engine was fitted— some two and a ;half years ago—it hag been found advisable to put in two new pistons, and as the slide, valves are rather worn to replace them with new ones. This will necesssitate a further ■■ stoppage. «f 9 or 10 days, and as nothing has been done in the mine since Wednesday or Thursday there is nothing fresh to report. The men hare been temporarily discharged.
Butterworth and party are crushing at the Kuranui mill. Their parcel amounts to about 23 leads, but as they are crushing only one shift in the 24 hours'it is rather difficult to tell how it is shaping. All the other tribute! (including Johns' section) have been given up, the tributers having been unable to make them pay.
