TRIBUTE TENDERING.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—lf a miner is convicted of specimen stealing, ho is not only sent to gaol, but is branded and looked upon as an unclean thing. Such being the case, I should like to know with what the directors of the Kuranui Hill ought to be branded, who advertise for tenders for a certain portion of a mine, and in reply, receive a good number varying from 35 to 55 per cent., and who after a week's delay notify, that they have accepted ono at 37^, although there were several, others over .the one accepted. - Perhaps the fact that the manager, Mr Walker's son, was one of the favoured party "will assist to clear up the mystery, but it ia to be hoped that the shareholders will not forget what appears to me nothing short of, well to say the least, a very one-sided and unfair arrangement.—l am, &c, A Tendeeeb, Skortlaud, April 21th, 1877.
