CHICAGO MINSTRELS.
The Chicago Minstrels will reopen the Theatre Royal this evening for a short season of three nights. The first visit of these clever artistes will not have been forgotten by those who had the pleasure of seeing and hearing • them, and who will probably be glad to renew their acquaintance. These minstrela comprise within the troupe some of the cleverest negro delineators we have seen. They have also some able musicians and excellent singers; so that in the several features of the programme they are excellent. The "chair" business is well arranged and .excellently sustained, the solos and chorus singing being equal to anything 'we have heard; while the descriptivescenas, humorous acts, dancing, &"c.'i are sustained with great spirit and ability. The Minstrela have just concluded a most successful season in Auckland. On Friday night, we learn from the Herald, their performance was witnessed by the members of the Georgia Minstrel Troupe,'.just arrived from San Francisco, w,ho applauded most enthusiastically, and, we learn, expressed a high opinion of the entertainment. It will be seen that the stay of the Chicago Minstrels at the Thames is limited to three nights instead of five, as previously announced.
