This day

Peters, mail contractor between Tauranga and Napier, has notified the postal authorities that ■ unless the Oropi bush road is kept repaired he will be unable to drive. All the constabulary are off this road. The County Council having hung up the Act, the repairing devolves on the Government. It passes for eighteen miles through native unrateable land. Its state is disgraceful to the Government.
