I Wilson and party having completed their contract for driving the north cross* put at the 640 feet level, a fresh contract for driving a further distance of 2CD feet was let to Messrs Coutts and partj. The present'length :of thisr work Us now 660 feet, the country being very favorable to rapid working. The balance* bob is still performing its- work in a satisfactory manner, and there ia nothing fresh to report in connection with-the - shaft.
