Accident at the Crown Princess.
A rather serious accident happened'at the Crown Princess mine between three and four o'clock this afternoon. Two men named Alexander Johnstone and Peter Clarkson were working in the stope on No. 2 level when a mass of rock fell uponthem, striking Johnstone across the legs and Clarkson across the body. The former, by superhuman exertion, was able to remove the mass of rock from across his mate's body, and both were brought to the surface without delay.' Both men were careful miners, and had sounded the roof only a few seconds before the fall took place, which Mr Dawson accounts for by saying that it was close to an old watercourse. Both men were con-, ■veyed to the hospital, <but.we have not ascertained the exact nature or extent of their injuries. . -■• - -.• ■ ■-•■ -.- ' '■ ',:
