AUSTRALIAN.
Sydney, April 10.
. The weather is fine. The Exhibition was opened at noon by the Governor with a brief formality. The members of the Government, the Corporation, leading citizens, and a large concourse of-people were present. Owing to the live stock show being deferred till the seventh, and extensive machinery being in a state of unpreparedness, it presented an unfinished appearance outside. The Canadian, and American Courts are not yet ready, but the main building is in order, and presented an interesting spectacle. The pastoral, mining, and agricultural industries are well represented. The fine arts were poor, and sections representing minor industries were well filled..
W. H. Watt, of Wanganui, is highly commended for wool exhibits. Two other exhibits of wool of an indifferent class by the same exhibitor were also highly commended.
