County Council THAMES COUNTY BY-LAWS, THE undermentioned By-Laws of the Thames County Council are hereby published by order of the Council, «md Notice is hereby given that the said By-Lawa respectively will come into force on the Slsfc day of March, 1877. Thames, March 12th, 1877, ; BY-LAW No. 1. ■By-Law of the Thames 'County Council, made under special order of the said Council, dated the 30fch day of January, 1877, confirmed.the 28th day of February, 1877, and sealed with the common seal of the said Council the sth day of March, 1877. In pursuance of the powers vested in them under " The; Counties Act, 1876," the; Council of the County of Thames ordain as follows, that is to say—The word 'Slaughter-house!" shall, for the purpose of this By-Law, mean and include the Buildings; Yards, and Premises in respect of which any license may be granted under, such By-Law. - . (1). No Building or Premises within : ; i ,the County shall be used; as a place for the Slaughtering of Sheep or Cattle not the property of the owner, of tiie Building or Premises, except licensed as hereinafter mentioned ; nor shall any - Building.- or S Premises, \uhless licensed as. aforesaid, be used for the Slaughtering of Sheep, Swine, . or 6attle the ; property of the ' owner alter, notice served upon v .; , such owner*: or:,".left : for him on . : - fuch Premises', -requiring .such ;-, ..,'.■;...'-owneT to discontinue ;mch user, or > to take;:out a license underihia r ;. Any owner or occupier of Premises may apply-to the ©ouncil for a "license "to" lise 'the same as a Slaughter-house, such application "'■ to be in writing in. the formset out in Schedule No. I 1 hereto affixed, and to be lodged with the County Clerk. : (3). For each such license there shall be paid by "the licensee to the County Fund a fee of not less than £5, or exceeding £25 ; and each license shall remain in force mntil the 31st day of December following the date of such' license. (4). Every licensed Slaughter-house, shall be kept clean, and the Buildings scraped, lime-washed, t - and pufified, so that no noxious or injurious effects may accrue to the public from such Slaughter-; house. (s)i Every licensee shall keep at all ; time*, legibly written with ink, a Register in a form to be obtained from the County Clerk, of all Sheep arid Cattle slaughtered at: his licensed Premises, with the ! brand or mark on each Sheep or Head of Cattle,: Land shall, -.itrso j ..-• directed-by the Council, transmit ■•- to the County Clerk a copy of the; entries made in such [Register during the then previous seven days. . All animals received into pens, stalls, or yards belonging to.; licensed Slaughter-houses shall, bo properly watered and fed. (9). No'animal shall, in such licensed Premises, be subjected to any pain not necessarily consequent upTta'-'or entailed by the act of slaughter. (10). Every licensee shall admit to the licensed Premises, at any hour of the day or night, any Officer of the Council or of the Armed Constabulary.
