One of the-Bionea resulting from yesterday's breaking down, although it showed hardly any gold at the mine, when broken up proved to be one of the richest and is undoubtedly one of the largest specimens yet taken-from the run. This morning retorting, took, place after one week's crushing, and the return amounted to 44380z8 yield. The retorted lumps were banked this morning and melted, weight being 4381 ozs 3 dwts. The mine was visited this morning by a number of Auckland gentlemen, amongst whom were Messrs T. Busiell, F. Whitaker, jun., Brewer and Aitken. They all appeared pleased with the show on the No. 9 reef. No specimens -have been broken down since yesterday, and breaking dpirn will probably not be resumed till next week. Driving and stoping eastward is proceeding on the specimen lode. • : Lang and party finished their, crashing to-day for the yield of 16 ounces retorted gold. The parcels which were crushed at the company's battery amounted to 8 tons. "- • * Teasdale and party and Urwin and party, tributers of the old Point Eussell section, finished their crashings at the Kuranui battery today. Teasdale obtained 2i ounces from 4^ tons, and Urwin 1 ounce 16dwts from a parcel of similar size. The only parties now crashing at the company's battery are the Alburma company and Alexander and party, the company's tributers.
