THIS DAY. (Before W. Fraser, Esq., K.M.) BBBACHEB OF BOKOUGH BYE-LAWS. A. D. Bennett was charged with allow* ing one horse <o wander at large in Bowen street, Parawai, on the 22nd inst. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 2s 6d and costs. William Billings was charged with unlawfully allowing one calf' to wander at large in Grey street, Parawai, on the 22nd inst. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 2s 6d and costs. SUPPLYING-LIQUOR AFTER HOUBSi James Clark was charged with unlawfully permitting alcoholic liquor to.be sold on his licensed premises, to wit the City of Glasgow-Hotel, situated on Tararu Koad; after the licensed hour for closing, on the 23rd inst. Defendant pleaded guilty. - . Mr Bullen said that a man residing on the Tararu Road was drunk and 'was' illusing his wife and family. The interrention of the police was called in, and the man was followed into the hotel, when it was found that liquor was being supplied to him after 10 o clock while in a state of drunkenness. ' . His Worship said defendant would be fined 40s for the first offence, and £5 for the second one, and he hoped that' the defendant and. other publicans would take a warning from this, for if ever anyone appeared for a similar offence, he would fine him the full amount allowed by the Act.
