Accident in the Moanatairi.

An accident of a rather serious nature occurred at the Moanatairi mine to day, the victim being a miner, employed in Whisker's tribute section, named Robert McEwen. It appears that the tributers were putting in a set of timbers when, the " back " fell out, striking McEwen on the leg, wliilesundry smalt pieces of stuff struck him in other parts of the body. A stretcher was procured, and the injured mancarried by his mates to the hospital, where it was found that the small bone of his.leg was broken, and his ancle put but; there was also a severe cut on his head besides, sundry minor I bruises.' • ' ' '•■.' \ . <'■ ••'.-. * #- : '■■ :-; '
