At one o'clock yesterday afternoon Mr Richards succeeded in getting through tlie. N«.'2 reef in the No. 7 or bottom level, and when the hanging wall was reached it was 12 feet through. . Tho lode is looking very well and shows a decided improvement oh that of the level above, besides other advantages, being much easier worked. The works in the Ticinity of the Bird-in-Hand shaft are well forward. The manager has lately increased the mining staff employed ;to 30 hands, not including surface hands, of ' which there are about half a dozen.'
