GOLDEN CALF.
The- proprietor of this mine, Mr B. McDonald, has a Clashing of about 80 tons in progress at Bull's mill, and the cleaning up will take place some' time towards the end of the week. The crushing is-shaping for something like an ounce to the ton; 'The 'proprietor is at present sinking a winze on the No. 3 reef, and as soon as it has reached the depth of 60 feet he intends to extend a level. All hands are to be knocked off from the old winze in a few days. The other work in" operation is driving on the Moanatairi slide. The point intended to be driven on is about 100 feet from*, the present face of the drive, and yesterday a contract for driving 60 feet was Jet. The tributers have been reduced to one party—Bagnall and party. Part of their^ section is in the Central Italy, but at present they are working in the Golden Calf. The stuff which composed their late crushing was supposed to have been taken from the Central Italy ground, but it has been, proved that it came from within the Calf boundary, and, therefore, the latter gets the percentage.
