The Union Beach start crushing specimens to day; a few pounds more specimens yesterday. . . . Kapanga.—Some good stone .obtained. Boyal Oak.—^Eighty-seven bzs gold from specimens. ■
The public meeting last night, was largely attended. Captain Andrews in the chair. A resolution was proposed to wait upon Mr Cadmah, chairman of the County Council, requesting 'to know if the County Act would be put in force, and if he objected the deputation were instructed to • request hint to resign. A vote of censure was also passed upon him for the course he has adopted in opposition to the wish of the public... A resolution was also passed to merge the road board .in the County. A cordial vote of thanks to Councillors Luks, Blackmore and Coupland was passed.
