THEATER ROYAL.

Mr Emmet took a benefit at the Theatre

Royal last night, and the attendance was excellent, all parts of the house being cemfortably filled. The first act of a,new drama called " Phil the Foundling " and the second act of "Fritz" constituted the entertainment. Of the former, we can only say that it afforded another medium of showing Mr Emmet's versatility as an actor. The second act of " Fritz " introduced Mr Emmet in his principal character songs and dances, as well as the pathetic scene between him and his long lost sister, whose recollections he recalls by means, of " The Brother's Lullaby." This scene was admirably sustained last night, and the audience seemed to be delighted with the singing. Between the two pieces the band played Mr Emmet's "Waltz Caprice," and a

very pretty composition it is. No doubt it will soon become a favorite here. There were given away last night copies of the words of Mr Emmet's songs in " Fritz." To-night the whole of "Phil the Foundling " will be played, and as it is the last night of Mr Emmet's engagement we expect to see a crowded house.
