The 200 yards range rifle match was fired this afternoon, and won by Ross, of Wanganui, with a splendid score of 27 out of a possible 28 at the 8-inch bull's eye. The fourth carbine match was then taken —Bell, 67 ; McLean, 67; Cummings, 66; Blake, 64. . ; ,;,
The Governor has just landed, in the midst of a heavy shower, with a rough bar. The Hinemoa stood out to sea. The Governor was driven to the Westland Government House. The Bifles furnished a guard of honour. The local bodies were represented, but it was impossible to carry out the intended demonstration. • ' ;
