Tuesday. Mr Edward pearce, M.H.R. for the city, resigns j and leaves for England by the March mail. The first sitting of the Conference of Senior Constabulary Officers' to arrange the basis and details of the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern forces is being held to-day at the Government Buildings, under the presidency of Col. Moule. The members are Superintendents Shearman, Canterbury; Weldon, Otago ; Inspectors Tuke, Taranaki; Aitcheson, Wellington 1; Inspectors Brbham and Thomson, A.C. This day.
