Monday.

At a meeting of the City Council, held this afternoon, it was resolved that the further consideration of the new municipal accounts should be postponed until after the next municipal election, and that at the next session of Parliament the Council endeavour to obtain an alteration in clause 9 of the Eating Act of 1876.

At a meeting held this afternoon for the purpose of raising subscriptions towards a testimonial to Captain McLean £100 was collected in the room.

The Otago Volunteer representatives departed by the s.s. Hinemoa this afternoon.
