In the District Court James O'Brien, late lecturer for the American war diorama, sued Harry Stanley its manager for £250 damages sustained by reason of Stanley having assaulted him at Mosgiel in December last, The Jury returned a verdict for plaintiff in the sum of £60.
The rateable value of property in the City of. Dunedin for the year 1877 is £226,817, showing an.increase of £17,168 over that of the previous year. ;
; The case of Hobertson r. Ross wilt be concluded this evening, counsel . haying waived the right to address. . . ',
