Thames Nava! Brigade.
Major Cooper held his monthly inspection of this Brigade last evening j there was as usual, a fine muster of company and band, under Lieuts. Dalton and Bennett. The Major put the company through some drill, and afterwards took an inventory of the company's arms and stores. After drill, P.O. J. Gordon was presented with Mr McLaren's gold medal, won by him last Saturday with 40 points, being the fourth, time Gordon has won this prize—it has to be won five times by any one man to become the competitor's property—Seaman Parslow also received the Star, for second-class shooting. We understand the company's gun boat will leave here to-morrow, at 2 p.m., under command of two officers, to attend the Auckland Kegatta. There will be in all, four crews from this company competing in the pulling events at the
Auckland Regatta next Monday, and we wisli some of them at least success. In consequence of so many men being absent the officers have adjourned the company's usual church parade from next Sunday to Sunday week.
