Harbor Board Election.
BOEOUGH MEMBEES
A meeting of the Thames Borough Council to elect two of their number to represent them on the Harbor Board— the Mayor being a member ex officio —was held to-day in the Borough Council Ghambers. There were present: His Worship the Mayor, Crs Ehrenfried, Butt, Maenab, Wilson and Benshaw.
The Mayor read the third section of the Act as far as it concerned the Borough Council,''"pointing out to the councillors that they were not bound to choose members from their own number, but such as they thought would best serve their interests.
Cr Rcnshaw proposed that Mr John Gibbons be one of the members ; he felt sure that from his long shipping experience he would prove a valuable member of the Board.
Cr Ehrenfried said he had much pleasure in seconding the motion, which was put to the meeting, and carried unanimously.
Cr Ehrenfried proposed Cr Wilson as a member of the Harbor Board. Cr Wilson, he said, had always done his duty, aud worked harmoniously with those with whom he had come in contact.
Cr lienshaw seconded the motion, remarking that Cr Wilson represented Tararu, the Mayor the centre of the district, and Cr Gibbons Shortland, so that the representation would be fairly divided.
The motion was put, and also carried unanimously.
Or Wilson thanked the Council for the trust reposed in him, and the meeting then adjourned.
