Meeting of the Thames Hospital Subscribers.

The annual meeting of the subscribers to the Thames Hospital was held yesterday evening in the Theatre Royal. On the stage were present—the Bey. 3. Hill ' (President), the Bey. V. Lush (VicePresident); Messrs Mcllhonej Hicki, Prater, Gudgeon, Bagnall; McCuUbugh, Hudson, Davies, Mulligan, Macnab, and E. Honiss (Secretary), and Dr Perston. MINUTES. The President called on the Secretary to read the minutes of the last meeting, which were read, carried, and confirmed and signed by the Chairman. ANNUAL REPORT OF COMMITTEE. This report was then read by the secretary. Applause followed the reading of the report. .. - . The adoption of the report was mored by Mr Farrell and seconded by Mr Bag* nail senior and carried. . / BALANCE SHEET. The Treasurer, Mr J. Mr Eensbaw called attention to the fact that the income for the past year had been greater than in the previous year, and the expenditure considerably less, and thanked the public for the trust they had reposed in the Committee. Mr Cox moved the adoption of the balance sheet. . , - Mr Gr. Bagnall seconded the motion, which was carried. EEPOBT OF THE MEDICAL BTAFP. ' The report of the medical staff was then read by the secretary. Mr Hume moved the adoption of tha report. Mr Thompson seconded the motion, which was carried. ' . ELECTION OF PRESIDENT. . --» Mr McCullough proposed Mr James 1 Eenshaw as President. He said he was the oldest member of Committee, and had rendered valuable services to the hospital. Mr Bagnall seconded the motion. Mr Cocks proposed the Eev. J. Hill. The Eev. J. Hill said that he would state to them what he had stated to other people. He declined to stand because he thought that the honor of being President was one that should go round the com* mittee, and he had already filled the office. The Chairman then put the motion, which was carried unanimously. VICE-PRESIDENT. Mr Mcllhone proposed, and Mr Bagnall seconded the motion, that Mr J, Frater be vice-president. Carried. ■ TREASURER. ' ,'; Mr Frater proposed Mr John Hudson. Messrs Gudgeon and Bagnall were also proposed. Messrs Patterson and Carnell were elected scrutineers, and a poll, was taken, and there were for Mr Bagnall, 20 votes • for Mr Gudgeon, 13; for Mr Hudson, 36. Mr J. Hudson was then declared duly elected. *

COMMITTEE. The Chairman said the next business was to elect a committee! 28 were nominated, of whom two declined to stand, and another declared to be ineligible, not being a subscriber. '" Mr. Bagnall proposed a vote of thanks to Dr O'Flaherty for his services as an honorary member of the medical staff. He said that owing to the withdrawal of some gentlemen who were on the honorary list, they were at one time, without any honorary staff" at all, but that directly Dr O'Flaherty came to the Thames he had offered his services to the committee, and was more on this account entitled to a vote of thanks.
