This day. Arrived: Wakatipu from Sydney. She brings 305 tons cargo for all ports.
Sydney. Jupp does not play with the eleven at Sydney, but accompanies them to New Zealand. . Several midshipmen have been fined ten pounds each for cutting' the hawser of the steamer Kent at Sandridge pier. The gold statistics for Victoria last year show a falling off of one hundred thousand ounces.
Melboubne, January 10. Seamen of the steamer Warrambool struck work on a question of overtime.
W. H. Williams, printer, was fined £25 and costs for printing a paper called " The Clipper," without entering into recognisances. .
Sales of sugar to-day realised the full market value. Large sales were made privately. Capt. Coffey, well known in shipping circles, died to-day. . Two hundred and-fifty hogsheads of Hennessy's brandy sold at nine and sixpence.
