COUNTY COUNCIL.
The adjourned meeting of the Thames County Council was held to-day in the Warden's Court at 10 a.m. There were present—Crs Bagnall, Thorp and Coutts. Cr jtfagnall was voted to the chair, and explained to those present that there certainly would not be a quorum, as some of the Councillors were still in Auckland. He had seen Crs Brodie and Mitchell, and as the night was a stormy one they had determined on remaining in Auckland, more especially as they wished to ace Mr Whitaker today. ' He would therefore propose that the meeting stand adjourned until the same hour to-mor-row, i Cr Thorp thought it would be better to adjourn it until this evening, so as to save time.
In this view the meeting concurred, and the meeting was adjourned until eight o'clock this evening. The applications for the offices of the Council were laid on the table. There were four for the office of clerk and treasurer, two for that of surveyor, sift tenders for the office of valuer, and five other letters not endorsed.
The Council adjourned. %„> " . [Subsequently it was agreed to let the* meeting stand adjourned till 10 o'clock to-morrow morning]
