WELLINGTON.

Henry Anderson, editor of the Evening Post, has commenced an action for libel against the proprietors of the Argus for certain alleged injurious and unjustifiable reflections upon his character which appeared in a paragraph in that paper. The Argus gives the names of its solicitors. This day. Bennett, agent for the Enjjlish cricketers, says the Englishmen are to leave Sydney by the Hotorua on the 24th, and expect to arrive in Auckland on the 28th. On Tuesday and Wednesday they jplay Auckland, leaving for Wellington on Wednesday, and playing their match here on Saturday the 3rd and Monday and Tuesday the sth and 6th of February. They next visit Waneanui, and having played there return to Wellington to embark for Southern ports. Prom Christchurch they proceed to Greymouth, returning to Ohristchurch to embark for Dunedin. The last match will be played at Invercargill.
