At the coal pit at Heathcote the company struck the main seam of coal yesterday in their shaft at a depth of 246 feet.
The Bank of New Zealand ship by the Kennedy for shipment to London, by the Waimea, from Lyttelton, 13,050 ounces of gold, as follows :—-From Hokitika, 37000z5; Greymouth, 60500z5; Westport, 33000z5.
