In the tKirty. second lialf-yearly report of the New Zealand Insurance Company the directors state that the nett premiums received were £73,389 15s 3d; interest, -rent and transfer fees, £9,504 3s sd; which with an amount received from last half-year gives a total of £89,193 16s. Losses paid and provided for, £53,510 8s 6d. After carrying £15,000 to reinsurance fund, which now stands at £70,000, there remains a balance to profit and loss of £12,660 12s lOd. They recommended that there be appropriated to the payment of dividend £15,000. Carried forward to next halfyear, £4660 12s lOd. Account of old company closed amount of paid up capital £200,C00. J. L. "Wilson was appointed 'to the vacancy caused by the death of W. C.Wilson.
