The water having gradually risen compelling this temporary arrangement. The space occupied by the lode being filled up with mullock and rendered secure. Nos. 3 and 5 reefs supply their quota of crushing dirt; from the third level, where No. 1 reef lias,been, also intersected, rand at present is being driven upon northerly, the reef is smaller than below, being in tight country, but gold is to be seen in small quantities. j
