Opposition Trifling—Long Sitting.
Tnis day. The House adjourned at 6 o'clock this morning till 10 o'clock. The Opposition have kept at it up to that time with vigor. Old Fitz spoke for three hours what may accurately be described as most superb nonsense to kill time. He talked of the different aspects of the question which could be discussed. Thus — the political, social, moral, commercial, financial and literary aspects. The parentage of the Bill was also a matter of vital importance to the whole universe. Who was its father ? Who its mother ? Had it a sister or a brother ? Where could it go when it died, and if so how much ? Would the bill ever go home? and other intricate questions of weighty moment. The Opposition will fight as long as they have legs to stand on, but the Government are strongest and will likely best them.
