This day. City Auckland.—The manager reports a satisfactory improvement in the intermediate level, gold being seen frequently. He is breaking down, but has come*upon nothing worth saving. Ten lbs of specimens, were taken from the lower level; gold is showing overhead, but the leader is railier pinched up. Something good is exj:cct d when under the shot of gold.
I.'oval Oak.—The manager reports nothing important in the general workings. In the old workings No. 2 is a fine leader, showing blotches 0? gold occasionally. He has about 20 tons of quartz in tfie paddock. Tokatea.—Nothing fresh. Over 4201bs of specimens in hand, with a promise of more.
Mrßullezi, Inspector of Police from the Thames, arrived l>y cutter to-day to see into tiie, a-le^ed breach of the Quartz ■Crushing Machines Regulations Act.
