AURIVAL OF THE CUTTER.
The cutter with the parcel of stuff from the Tairua Prospectors' claim drew up alongside the Goods Wharf this morning, having been inside during the storm of yesterday. Mr Beeche superintended the conveyance of the bags from the cutter to the. Moanatairi battery, at which arrangements had previously been made to crush the stone, and tho single stamper was started at work at abo.ut.ll.. o'clock.. It may be welLtogiye. the correct amount of stuff comprising the trial parcels. From ';?£ke r, shaft there: are 2 tons 5 cwt of stone; from JS"o 1 reef, 1 cwt; '.from K0,_,2 reef, 1 cwt; making in»,ali«. 2- 'tons'; 7-,cwt of; crushing stuff. The crushing is being superintended by the! manager of the claim. Our reporter was shown a splendid prospect from a handful of the rubble taken out by-Mr Beeche, indiscriminately, from the stuff being put into the stamper box. The arrival of the stone has caused i & great deal of excitement, -and the result of the crushing, which will not be given before to-morrow night, is looked for-l ward to with keen interest.
