Thursday. The. Mataura Paper Company have advertised for tenders for cutting a race and mason work at Mataura Falls. The plant for the paper-mill is being manufactured in Sydney, and the company formed here have secured patents. A new rowlock has >been invented by Capt. Thomas, Harbour-master at Bluff harbour. J
The;chairman of the Invercargill Immigration Committee has received a letter from Sir Julius Vdgel, communicating that he had made arrangements for two ships -direct to the Bluff, each to_ bring 300 immigrants, during the next month. The Blair Gowrie, 441, has sailed for Lytteltpn; the MaAusland, 339, for the Bluff. Steward's special settlement immigrants sail on the 7th.
