TAIRUA.

During the last three days there lias been some splendid gold-bearing stone taken from the Prospectors' shaft, some of which might be classed as picked stone, and of a superior quality to anything yet seen on this field. This is encouraging as it was taken from the bottom of the shaft now 24 feet deep. The manager has at present about 20 tons of crushing ituff on hand. Two tons were sent away last Thursday for Grahainstown via Tairua Harbor, and will be brought on from there in the cutter Tairua, which will probably arrive at tlio Thames about Thursday next. A change has ; taken place in the tunnel—the ground is getting a little softer and more of the nature of tho ground in the shaft.
