This day. Snyder rifles aro to bo issued to tho 1 Volunteers here to-day. His Excellency the Governor will lay the foundation stone of the new Presbyterian Church to-morrow. An attempt at sticking up occurred on tho Hutt road on Saturday night. Two men rushed at the Collector of the Hutt Highway Board as he was riding home, and tried to catch the reins, but he evaded them and. galloped off. One of the men has been arrested. Frank Murray was brought up this morning and charged with attempted sticking. up on Saturday evening. He was comitted for trial.
