REVISION COURT.
The "Revising Officer, H. C. Lawlor; Esq., sat in the Warden's Court to-day to hear objections to the names on the Electoral 801 l for the Thames District. Mr Lawlor stated that he had received' a letter of apology from>the- Registration Officer, who was prevented from" being present "on account of pressing duty in Ohincmuri. On the objection of John Parke — twico-on the roll —coming on, Mr Lawlor remarked that there was a roisapprehen- j sionontho minds of some persons as to the nature of the objections—it was only to prevent the name of one person occurring twice on the same roll. A number of names appeared on the objection list of persons describe! as living on the Karaka creek. James McTntosh was one of these, and he .applied for costs as he considered the objection to his name was frivolous. He I had neglected to put Karaka, Thames, there being also a Karaka in Coromandcl. The ltevising Officer added the word Thames to; the entry, and acknowledged -the validity of the qualification, but did not consider the objection frivolous, and would not allow costs. M? Norton appeared on behalf of Mr J. M. Coq};e to object to his"' name being struck off the roll. ,He was described as residing on Karaka Creek. TheEevising Officer had already •rule^d that some more specific description was necessary, and he would not allow that the objection was frivolous. The Eevising Officer decided to amend all the entries as above, by adding Thames. ■'.;■• The list, comprising about 800 names, was got through by three o'clock, there having been no material objections, and only a few alterations were made in the nature of the qualifications.
