CROWN PRINCESS.
I have to report favorably of this company's mine. From 136 loads of stone (9f days' crushing) the return of amalgam i 3 753 oas, and the tailings from the blanket washings have not job been treated, the berdans being out of order. The treatment of the tailings is expected to occupy three days, so that there will be a good amount from this source to add to the i-eneral yield. The dirt was taken from No. 2 leader and the specimen leader, and the result, from »o short a crushing must be looked upon as highly promising, and should place the shares of the company on a much firmer footing, if the return is proportionately good after retorting. The latter reservation is suggested by the fact that fresh water has been used and the weather has been very cold. The last crushing was put through the Prince Alfred Battery, and, I believe, went over a third. Anyway, the circumstances so far are extremely satisfactory.
