There is a report of another find; near Jacob's store, but it is not spoken of as being anything very great., Things are pretty much at a stand-still owing to the amount of litigation looming in the distance. The Prospectors at Tairua (from which I have just returned) still shows good. gold. Jackson; has nearly completed a track from his store to the claim, for which he deserves every credit. From this place up the, track is in a fearful state. Anyone coming up may make up his mind to get up to the neck in mud. Several miners have gone on to the new find south of the prospectorgj and intend going into winter Quarters there. \
Paddy Bonfield has been here to-day. His object was to peg out the old Dawn of Hope, but he was rather late in the field, haying - been anticipated ,in .the object of his visit. " [ \ I was shown: to-day a sample, of course gold got by a party sluicing in this dis-; trict.,Nearly all the old workings .about Puriri are attracting attention, numerous parties being fossicking about. Some of the reefs which were uncovered years ago will, it is confidently believed, pay now with the increased facilities for crushing.
