DUNEDIN.
. .; : - Monday, l There"was an unusually lively debate in the City Council on the alleged, attempt of the arbitrators of the Princesstreet widening claims to make an overcharge of fees. It appears thatfwhen it was thought the City Council might attempt to invalidate the awards by not payirigf the fees claimed by the arbitrators, the maose tenants went at once and gave a cheque for the full amount of the fees. Who gave them the information as to the Corporation's intentions nobody knows, but the Mayor trusted it was not a member of the Council.
