THEATRE ROYAL.
To-night Mr and Mrs George Darrell are to renew their acquaintance with the Thames people after an absence of nearly four years, during which time they have travelled through many lands and played before many audiences. We have no doubt a warm reception will be accorded to Mr and Mrs Darreii on their reappear? ance at the Theatre Royal, the scene of many former successes, and with the building of which Mrs Darrell was closely associated as part owner.. The piece selected for the opening performance is the " Lady of Lyons," with Mrs Darrell a* Pauline and Mr Darrell as Claude Melnotte. They will be supported by an excellent company, the principal members of which were amongst us not so rery loig ago as to hare been forgotten.. It is
notified in the advertisement that during the season there will be no repetition of any piece, so that although the season is limited to nine nights it will afford opportunities for tWe production of some of the most attractive plays comprised in the extensive repertory of the Darrells, including emanations from Mr Darrell's pen, that gentleman having gained some credit as an author as well as actoiv'ivWs trust the season will result satisfactorily to the company and ths enterprising lessee, Mr De Lias, who ha» before now placed some excellent entertainments before the Thames public.
