GOLDEN HILL.
The Golden Hill Tributers, in the Imperial Crown. Company's ground, are new crushing at the Prince Alfred battery, or, it shoald rather be said, have completed crushing, as cleaning up took place this morning; but retorting, which was commenced this afternoon, will not be finiihed before six or ieven o'clock to night. A very fair return is expected,; the crushing being likely t» yield about 40 ounces of gold from 35 tens of quartz.; However, the shareholders, Messrs.; Salmon and party, are deserving of good returns, if drily to recoup them for the outlay of money. in arriving at the; present point of operations. A slide having cut off the reef, an immense amount of dead work had to be performed, in' order, tpi recover it; and this flearcW cost the shareholders somewhere about £1,C30, which, it will be freely admitted,: is ,a large outlay to be expended upon what one may term " foreign "ground J The result from the crucible will be in to-morrow 1! issue of the Star. ;
