Suspected Incendiarism.
Two fires;broke but within an hour of each other lastnight—one at tile workshop of Cranwell's Furniture Depot, Shortland street, and the other at Burkes, bellows maker," Wakefield street. Both were extinguished before they got a firm hold. Suspected incendiarism in each case. At Burkes a ;quantity of; flax, saturated with kerosine, was found. The police took Burke into custody on' suspicion. He is a captain of Fire Brigade.
