EXPORT OF GOLD.
The steamship Hero, which left Auckland for Sydney on Wednesday, was the bearer of the following shipments of gold to Melbourne:—s boxes, shipped by the Bank of New Zealand, containing as follow:—-1747 ozs. 9 dwts. 12grs., the produce of Nelson, value '£6989 18s ; 534 ozs. 10 dwts.| the produce ofWestlahd, value £2138 ; 3503 ozs 1 dwt. 12 grs., the produce of the, Thames Gbldfield, value £14,880 Is Id; total, 5787 ozs. 1 dwt., value £21,007 19s Id. Shipped by the Bank of Australia — 1 box, containing 1177 ozs., the produce of the Thames Goldfield, value £4400 ; total, 7984 ozs. 1 dwt.; total value, £28,407 19s Id. Duty paid on the same, £696 4s Id, of which £468 Os Id is paid in; this province.
