Eiq»., J.P.'o) - ' "* DBXTNKBNNBSS^ Richard Lee was. charged with having been drunk and disorderly in Pollenstreet, Shortland, on the 23rd instant. Defendant pleaded guilty, and wail' fined' 20s and costs, or 48 hours' imprisonment. TAGBAJTOT. .^, V Richard Lee was v also charged with a breach of the Vagrant Act, by making use of obscene and profane language in a public place, ,fo wit, Pollen-street, Shortland, on the 23rd inst*. * ' . Defendant said he recollected nothing of it. * ' " Mr Bullen said the, language made use of by the defendant was the most disgusting and revolting he had ever heard m his life, and would ask for a substantial penalty., - - ... - Nixon Scott, constable,. deposed to apprehending the prisoner. The prisoner made use of the language described on paper produced more than- once, and at the top of his voice. ; , The paper was submitted to defendant, who said he failed to recollect ought of the language. (The terms were of the most appalling kind, and totally unfit for any ears.) The Bench inflicted a fine of £3, or to go to gaol for 14 days. The alternative was accepted; J "* ~
