ST. ANDREW'S DAY.

Monday next, being the anniversary of St. Andrew will be observed as a holjjay. The Provincial Government offices and the banks will be closed, and it is very probable other places of business will be closed. There are various means of enjoyment organised for the day, an excursion to Ohinemuri being one ; and as a great deal of interest now centres in the upper country, the steamboat' will most likely be well patronised. The united Oddfellows' demonstration at Tararu will prove a great attraction, followed as it is to be by a soiree and danse in the evening. Should the weather continue favourable the Thames community will not be backward in availing themselves of the different opportunities for holiday making.
