THE LOYALTY.
The prospects of this mine are rapidly improving and bid fair to realise" the expectations which were raised at the time Mr. Thomas purchased the ground for the Thames Company. The crushing which was completed last week did not turn out satisfactorily, although gold had frequently been jseen in the stuff. Mr. Thomas, the manager, then decided to sink on the reef, as the crushing stuff had been taken from the cap. The point selected for sinking was where gold had been seen oftenest, and the result has justified the impression formed. Very little progress has been made with the sinking, but some good specimen stone has been taken out, and the indications are of such an encouraging nature that a further improvement is likely to be visible as the sinking proceeds. .
