RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Beforo W. Fbaseb, Esq., KM.) BEEACH OF THE LICENSING- ACT.
Charles Curtis was charged with that he, being the licensee of the Pacific Hotel, Graharnstown, within the space of six months last past,, to wit, on the. 12th day of November, 1874, did unlawfully commit a breach of the 42nd section of the Licensing Act, 1873, Amendment Act, 1874, by employing a female other than the wifa or daughter of the licensee in the bar of the said licensed house after the hour of eleven post meridian on the 12th November, 1874, The information was laid by Wm. Coughlan, constable.
Mr. Macdonald: appeared for defendant and pleaded not guilty.
Sergeant Elliott asked for an adjournment of the case till Thursday, as a chief witness was absent in Auckland.
The Court granted the adjournment. This was all the btisiness.
