THE CENTRAL ITALY.

This company are crushing away at Webb's battery with most favorable results, the amalgam shewing up for a more favorable return than the last crushing did, I mean from the stuff generally. The mine manager who has succeeded Mr. Comes may be complimented on his perfect knowledge of this difficult mine to work, or rather, to take stone from it that will pay and leave out non-payable stuff; it is half the battle in a claim like the Central Italy. If the present crushing should turn out well, how about dividends ? The scripholders are beginning to get a little anxious in this respect. For my own part I think if companies' dr. and cr. affairs were quarterly submitted, publicly I mean, it would be an improvement; folks would feel more confidence in their ventures.
