WAIOTAHE HIGHWAY BOARD.
At a'meeting of the new ; board on Saturday last Mr. Wm. Rowewas elected chairman for the ensuing year. It was; also resolved that Mr. Galligher, the contractor for the road in progress, be paid £100 on account. The Chairman was requested to jbe; kind enough, to secure the services |of either MeSsrs. j."; Craig or T. W. Gudgeon, as a valuator, It was also resolved that the Ghairm'an -put;; himself in communication, with the- Pro-' vincial Government with reference ••.toProvincial grants in aid for making tracks in up country districts. The attention of the iingineer wa's directed to the s^ate «f the embankment oppo-ite the Nonpareil store. :■ The meeting- then adjourned. •
