DIFFERENCE OF OPINION.
(To the Edifor of the Evening Star.)
Sin, —In your report on the Eazaar Concert I notice you say, "|Mr. Owen played all the accompaniments in very good taste during the evening." Permit me to say that if Mr. Owen had merely adhered to the text, and played the accompaniments as before him, and as written by the different composers, and not indulged so profusely in imaginative cadences, pleasant only to his own .ears, he would, have not only displayed' much better taste, but have added .considerably to the confidence of the performers, and comfort of the audience,?r-Yours &c,
LISTBNEB. Grahamstown, July 30th, 1874.
